Activity Objective: The purpose of this activity is to explore different friendship scenarios with youth and have a discussion about whether they are healthy or toxic. |
Materials Required: One copy of the scenarios discussion sheet to read out to the class |
Prep Time: 3 minutes Print out scenarios discussion sheet Task Time: 40 minutes |
Activity Description: 1. Tell the class that you will be reading out some friendship scenarios and they are to decide whether the friendship or the situation is healthy or toxic. You will then guide through a discussion about this using the questions provided under each scenario 2. Give about 10-15 minutes to discuss each scenario. Write some of the main points on the board (especially if they are related to the learning goals of this module) to come back to at the end 3. Wrap up the discussion by going through the main points written on the board |
Activity Extensions: For a more interactive version of this activity, label one side of the classroom as ‘healthy’ and the other side as ‘toxic’. After reading each scenario, have the individuals choose and move to each of their sides before proceeding with the discussion Have class form small groups and assign them a scenario to discuss and then have them present on this to the whole class |
